Fort Lauderdale Florida is a vibrant city on the coast of South Florida that offers visitors a unique combination of award-winning beaches, year-round sunshine and spectacular shopping and dining. It’s an ideal destination for families, couples and friends to enjoy a great vacation.
Fort Lauderdale Restaurants
From waterfront dining and high-end steakhouses to old-fashioned ice cream parlors and Polynesian tiki fire shows, Fort Lauderdale has plenty of restaurants for every taste, budget and style. From trendy Greek mezzes by the sea to buzzy steakhouses and a strip mall hotspot, there are a wealth of delicious options for dinner, drinks with friends or big time celebrations.
For a night out, you’ll find plenty of places to get your groove on and enjoy live music. The Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District and Las Olas Boulevard are two of the most popular areas in Fort Lauderdale to find a wide variety of bars and clubs with everything from rock to blues, jazz and more playing.
There are also some tavern-turned nightclubs where you can enjoy live music and dancing. One such bar is Lucky’s Tavern in downtown Fort Lauderdale that’s frequented by locals and visitors alike.
You can also find some funky breweries here too with a focus on juicy IPA’s and tart sour ales. Khoffner’s specializes in German-style brews and was even featured by Forbes Magazine as one of the country’s best-undiscovered breweries.
Some of the most popular attractions in Fort Lauderdale are its pristine beaches, crystal clear water and unique Everglades landscape. To explore the wilderness, you can rent a boat or take a tour by airboat. The city also features a number of nature parks and trails where you can hike, bike and walk.
Shoppers can find just about anything here, including a vast shopping mall packed with recognizable brands and Las Olas Boulevard that has been voted as one of the best streets for boutiques in all of Fort Lauderdale. Coral Ridge Mall, a locals’ favorite, has 45 stores offering retail therapy for all kinds of shoppers.
There are a variety of shopping centers around the city, but we recommend the Coral Ridge Mall as it is a convenient place to shop and get a bite to eat after you finish your shopping spree. Here you can find brands like Target, Marshalls and TJ Maxx, as well as the likes of Macy’s, Lowes and Home Goods, among others.
After you’ve finished your shopping, you can always stop by the mall to grab a quick bite at nearby restaurants such as P.F. Chang’s or Blue Martini, both of which have locations in the complex.
For a day out in the sun, you can visit Sawgrass Recreation Park where you can see alligators in the wild or ride an airboat out onto the wetlands for a unique and memorable experience. Or you can head to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts to catch a Broadway production or an opera.
